1 3 discussion stormcasts
Topic Statement
Stormcasts (Links to an external site.) are daily 5-10 minute information security threat updates. They are authored by Johannes B. Ullrich, Ph.D. (Links to an external site.) These updates are short and packed with information; however you may find that some of the cybersecurity terms and phrases are unfamiliar to you.
Discuss
Listen to one of the recent Stormcasts and review the associated links and information in the show notes for that podcast. You may choose any of the podcasts that were produced within the past month. As you listen to the podcasts and review the show notes, be prepared to stop and note any unfamiliar terms, then do some research to determine what is being discussed.
Write a discussion post that explains what you learned.
- Why is the information important?
- Who could be harmed by the security threats described in the podcast?
- What information systems or devices are discussed in the podcast?
- Provide a definition for any terms that were unfamiliar.
- Be sure to reference the date of the broadcast that you are reporting on.
Post & Engage
Make every attempt to post your initial response by the middle of the module week. After posting your response, review your classmates’ posts and make a thoughtful and substantive response to at least two others by the end of the module week. Refer to the discussion rubric for detailed grading criteria.
Please read these instructions for information on accessing the discussion rubric. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
