1.) I believe that my social background has had a big impact on my personality. I am so much like my mother and grandmother. I am sure that I am the woman that I am, because I spent so much time with them throughout my life. I think that the way that we are raised and the values that our families instill in us help to make us the people that we become. For better or for worse, our social backgrounds influence a lot of the decisions that we make each day.

Good morning class,

I definitely think social backgrounds greatly influence my behavior and personality. I grew up in a small town in south eastern Wisconsin. Yes I do think beer and cheese is an acceptable meal. haha Shortly after High School I began working for the Department of Corrections and quickly realized how that job had affected my personality and attitude. After a few years of working there and generally disliking the personality I had developed from working in a very negative environment I quit that job. Its been a few years since I’ve stepped foot in a prison and it was a huge learning curve for me. Realizing that that world is nothing like the real world and my normal interactions weren’t acceptable was very shocking. It also really made me happy about my choice to leave that profession.
