In the short tragedy Macbeth, the main character, General Macbeth’s morals are tested.  The general uses violence to the point of murder to pursuit his ambitious goal.  The general’s wife plays a key role to persuade him to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goal and to keep the means secret.

I believe that in this drama there are two types of literary conflicts of physical and psychological influences: individual versus society, and individual versus self.  I believe that the individual versus society stems from the belief that General Macbeth not being of “Royal blood” believes that after being told by witches that he is to be king, he decides to do whatever he needs to do to rebel against the belief in society that only blood relatives of the current monarchy are entitled to the throne. Of selfish personal gain.    I believe that in the conflict of individual versus self, Macbeth must become apparent when after he kills the former king he must continue to battle what he knows about himself and continue to go against his morals to keep the crown for himself.

The main literary technic used is fate.  This technic is revealed when the three witches foretell of Macbeths destiny to become king of Scotland.  Another technic is rising action.  A rising action occurs when Macbeth with the persuasion of his wife continues to take out potential people that would challenge his raise to the crown.  This rises to a high point that then precipitates and concludes with his demise.  The characters in this work as well as real life people do what they do because personal motivations and desires.  Reading Macbeth explores some of the most fundamental human emotions.

The concern that the economic status of our residents limits us to equal access to positive food options. Looking at the issue from the ethical theory of utilitarianism, “utilitarianism argues that, given a set of choices, the act we should choose is that which produces the best results for the greatest number affected by that choice.” (Mosser, 2013, Ch. 1.6, Para. 2) The proposal of building a health/organic food market will ensure we are getting an equal opportunity to gain access to good-quality fresh foods. Neighborhood Disparities in Access to Healthy Foods and Their Effects on Environmental Justice, an article written to bring food justice to the forefront, stated that, “low income neighborhoods offered greater access to food sources that promote unhealthy eating.” (Hilmer, 2012) The choice of building a health/organic food market well benefit everyone in the neighborhood by giving them an outlet to the unhealthy food choices they currently have. Not building the healthy/organic food market will continue to raise the health risks associated with the unhealthy food choices we currently have now. According to livestrong.com, a website that promotes a healthy lifestyle, stated that, “an unhealthy diet increases your risk for cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer and osteoporosis.” (Renee, 2015, Para. 3) Our current situation is causing our residents to drive in excess of 30 miles to get to an outlet for a healthier food choice. The choice is obviously clear that building the health/organic food market will give our residents the outlet they need for a healthier food choice and promote a healthier diet as well as lifestyle. Along with giving our residents an outlet to a healthier food choice and the promotion of a healthier diet and lifestyle, it will help solve the issue of food justice and food desert.
